Clima urbano de Dourados (MS): uma análise a partir do processo de urbanização

Abstract

Urban climate, thermal comfort, urbanization process, man-nature relationship and systemic theory are the topics discussed in this work, whose main objective was to understand the thermal and relative humidity condition of Dourados, focused on thermal comfort, from its urbanization process and data collection inside the urban space, showing the systemic relationship of its constituents. Based on the methodology of the Urban Climate System, from Carlos Augusto de Figueiredo Monteiro, it was tried to analyze the thermal and relative humidity characteristics of Dourados, from its historical climatological normal, passing through the thermal surface map obtained by the Landsat 5, the systematization of thermal and relative humidity data collected within the urban tissue in fixed points and mobile transects to their classification according to the Thom’s index of thermal discomfort. It has caused the reflection about how the different forms of urban space generate different types of splitting the ground, different flow rates, different types of constructions and thus different urban microclimates inside the same territory. So, it’s possible to see several "Dourados" inside Dourados, by the physical, urban, historical, social, political, and climatic point of view. The quality of human life is directly related to the interference of man's work in the urban environment and its chaotic urbanization causing, then, considerable ecological and social problems. With regard to thermal comfort, it’s shown by the index of thermal discomfort and by the Thermodynamic Subsystem how much it can interfere in human health - in collective and individual scales - and the performance of daily activities.
