Abstract: This dissertation analyzes the production of urban space in Juazeiro do Norte (CE), Brazil, through religious spatial practices, with an emphasis on the pilgrimages and rituals performed by the pilgrims. The research is grounded in the theoretical framework of Lefebvre, particularly his conception that space is socially produced through the interaction between spatial practices, representations of space, and spaces of representation. In this context, the study seeks to understand how popular religiosity, especially surrounding the figure of Padre Cícero, acts as a spatial productive force, reshaping urban uses, meanings, and dynamics. The pilgrimages, as recurring manifestations deeply rooted in the Northeastern Brazilian imaginary, mobilize large flows of people and promote both temporary and permanent transformations in the city, as expressed in the urban landscape, economic practices,
and social relations. The research also relied on semi-structured interviews with representatives of the public sector, religious institutions, and pilgrims, in order to capture different perspectives on the impacts and meanings of these practices. The results reveal that the urban space of Juazeiro do Norte is profoundly shaped by the presence of the pilgrims and the logics of faith. Thus, the city emerges as a lived space, socially constructed through religious practice, confirming that space is neither neutral
nor given, but produced daily by human actions.

Abstract: Prenatal care is essential to ensure the health and well-being of women and newborns, playing a central role in reducing maternal mortality and complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. This study focuses on the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, which comprises 79 municipalities and has a population of 2,757,013 inhabitants (IBGE, 2022). The aim is to analyze how the race/ethnicity variable influences access to and adequacy of prenatal care provided by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and its impacts on maternal mortality outcomes between 2009 and 2021. This is a descriptive and retrospective study with a quantitative and spatial approach, based on secondary data obtained from the Mortality Information System (SIM) and the Live Birth Information System (SINASC), accessed
through DATASUS. The data were analyzed using thematic cartography, allowing the identification of territorial patterns and racial inequalities in maternal health. The results indicate that Black, Brown, and Indigenous women face greater barriers to adequate prenatal care, associated with socioeconomic, geographic, and structural factors, which exacerbate maternal health inequalities. Border regions present specific challenges related to economic, political, and social asymmetries. A high proportion of incomplete records was also identified, revealing weaknesses in health information systems. The study concludes that cartography is a strategic tool for territorial analysis and for strengthening public policies aimed at equity in maternal health.

Abstract: This research seeks to analyze the meaning of Well Living as an alternative to development, based on the struggle of the collective Guardians of Good Living, in the Agroextractivist Settlement Project of Gleba Lago Grande - PAE Lago Grande, in Santarém. The collective arises in 2019, through mobilizations in defense of the territory, organized by the youth of the communities of the settlement against the interests of mining expansion in PAE. Above all, we address the characteristics of PAE and the main threats that its residents have faced. Based on this, we examined the spatial practices adopted by the Guardians in maintaining defense and raising awareness of EAP residents about the possible impacts of large space projects throughout the settlement. In Santarém, the municipal power since the 1990s has been promoting development policies aimed at agribusiness and real estate speculation. The land projects in the municipality were developed ignoring the presence of local people. The methodology used adopts a qualitative approach, through field work and semi - structured interviews carried out in the years of 2022, 2023 and 2024, being reported in the text on the field experience, proving to be fundamental for the concept of territory and its proposal as an alternative to development. The analysis of the context of the Guardians in PAE Lago Grande is important for the discussion of alternative models to development, especially in a context of pressure on the territories in the Amazon caused by large space projects.
