Abstract: This study aimed to understand Petrobras's role in Brazil's energy transition between 2015 and 2024. As a leading company in Brazil's energy sector, it plays a fundamental role across all the country's energy segments. This work focused on the diversification of the energy mix, specifically regarding natural gas and biodiesel. To achieve these objectives, the study employed bibliographic research as its primary methodology, using a theoretical framework to assess Petrobras's performance in the face of energy transition challenges. Data analysis highlighted the company's relevance as a key driver of energy mix diversification in Brazil, showcasing the technological innovations Petrobras is implementing to reduce carbon emissions and diversify its energy sources beyond fossil fuels, with the goals of environmental
preservation and ensuring energy security. Finally, the study confirmed that the global future of energy exploration lies in the gradual shift from traditional to alternative sources, and that Petrobras is the primary entity responsible for the energy transition process in Brazil.

Abstract: This research aims to analyze the hierarchy of transmission channels for US monetary policy affecting key Brazilian financial assets, focusing on the Ibovespa Index and the exchange rate (PTAX Dollar). Grounded in Global Financial Cycle theory and the "flight to quality" phenomenon, the study investigates the spillover effects of Federal Reserve decisions on the Brazilian economy. Methodologically, this is a quantitative, explanatory empirical study based on a sample of 120 monthly observations spanning January 2016 to December 2025, utilizing a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) comprising six endogenous variables. Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) and Impulse Response Functions (IRF) revealed that US monetary policy transmission operates primarily through indirect channels, with the sovereign risk premium (5-year CDS) serving as the main vector. The study concludes that this is the dominant channel of financial contagion, as it accounts for the largest share of exchange rate and equity market variance in the long run. The risk channel outweighs the interest rate
differential, relegating the Selic rate to a purely reactive adjustment role. The research quantifies the constraints on domestic monetary policy, demonstrating that adjusting interest rates in isolation is insufficient to shield the economy from financial contagion. This finding highlights the need for additional control mechanisms to ensure financial stability.

Abstract: The growing of elderly population has worrying effects on world economies. The present work sought to analyze factors related to aging, work and social security in Brazil, a country in the process of population aging, and in Japan, considered a geriatric nation. This is an exploratory research, narrative review, based on documents and literature data. It was observed that in Japan there are incentive laws and special rights for workers, as well as social security rules that increase the income and participation of elderly people in the job market. In Brazil, the guarantee of special working conditions is inefficient and
the average retirement is insufficient, leaving elderly people susceptible to informal, poorly paid work and in a situation of social vulnerability. The guarantee and protection for elderly to work and restructuring of social security are possibilities to mitigate the problem.

Abstract: This study investigates the factors that influence the household solid waste disposal methods in Brazil, within the context of the circular economy. Using data from the 2015 PNAD (Brazilian National Household Sample Survey), a multinomial logit econometric model was estimated to identify how socioeconomic and regional variables affect the likelihood of households adopting proper waste disposal practices. The results reveal that higher education levels, higher income, and being female significantly increase the probability of adopting adequate waste management (direct collection). In contrast, residents in the North and Northeast regions are more prone to environmentally harmful practices such as burning or discarding waste in open areas. These findings highlight the urgent need for targeted public policies to universalize adequate waste management services across the country and promote
environmental awareness, particularly in underserved regions. The study contributes to the literature on urban sustainability and the development of circular economy strategies in Brazil.
