Abstract: This study examines the factors associated with agricultural productivity in G20 countries. The objective is to assess the influence of structural and institutional variables, such as education, agricultural research and development, CO₂ emissions, forest area, and employment in the agricultural sector, on productivity levels. A panel data econometric model with Newey-West estimators is applied to annual data from the group of countries. The results of the general model indicate that CO₂ emissions and agricultural employment are statistically significant, whereas education, R&amp;D, and forest area do not show a consistent relationship with productivity. In the model estimated for nondeveloped G20 countries, R&amp;D becomes significant, suggesting greater sensitivity to technological investment, while forest area exhibits a negative effect. Agricultural employment remains significant in both models, indicating an association between higher rural labor participation and lower productivity levels. The findings highlight structural differences between developed and nondeveloped countries and reinforce the need to incorporate institutional, financial, and logistical factors in future analyses.

Abstract: This thesis aims to analyze the role of environmental enforcement institutions in controlling illegal deforestation in the Legal Amazon, with emphasis on the relationship between agricultural activity, institutional reconfiguration, and strategies of federative cooperation. As materials and methods, it employed a systematic literature review, an econometric analysis of official data from the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), as well as a legal-institutional study focused on the assessment of federative competencies and the performance of Environmental Military Police forces. The results indicated that cattle ranching and soybean production remain the main drivers of deforestation, that the period from 2019 to 2022 was marked by significant institutional weakening with direct impacts on the increase of deforestation rates, and that state enforcement capacity can effectively complement federal action. The discussion highlighted the relevance of cooperative federalism and the need for innovative instruments to overcome operational weaknesses. As a final consideration, the creation of the National Environmental Force is proposed, composed of state personnel integrated under federal coordination, with multiannual financing and logistical support from the Armed Forces, as a strategy capable of restoring environmental police power, reducing impunity, and strengthening Brazil’s role in the protection of the Legal Amazon.

Abstract: Brazilian agribusiness has experienced significant growth, expanding food supply, creating industries, and generating employment and income. It is estimated that approximately half of the food produced worldwide involves female participation, which in agribusiness is concentrated primarily in agro-industries. Family-run agro-industries play a crucial role in food production, with women occupying central positions. This study investigated the competencies present in the professional profile of women managing family agroindustries in Mato Grosso do Sul. Based on a qualitative approach, ten semistructured interviews were conducted with active managers in the state, selected through contacts obtained at fairs and events related to family farming and rural tourism, as well as snowball sampling until theoretical saturation was reached. Data were collected between February and March 2025 using in-person meetings, video calls, and voice calls. Data analysis followed the principles of Grounded Theory, with open and axial coding, supported by ATLAS.ti software. The results indicate that management is predominantly collaborative and adaptive, with a strategic division of responsibilities and involvement of multiple generations, requiring skills in dialogue, negotiation, and flexibility. The managers’ trajectories highlight the importance of training provided by public institutions and government programs, traditional knowledge, practical experience, support networks, and self-directed learning strategies. The professional profile is characterized by entrepreneurial competence, strategic vision, assertive communication, leadership, resilience, networking, innovation, ethics, people management, and emotional intelligence, composing a multifaceted and adaptive profile with decision-making and people-management practices tailored to the family context.

      <title>Custo-benefício do controle biológico on farm para o manejo das principais pragas e doenças na cultura da soja</title>

Abstract: With the aim of meeting the demand from farmers and consumers for agriculture that uses fewer agrochemicals, which cause environmental damage such as human poisoning, contamination of soil and rivers, and the reduction of populations of insects beneficial to agriculture, such as parasitoids and predators, various studies have been conducted to evaluate the efficiency of biological control as a sustainable management option in agriculture. However, studies analyzing the cost-benefit of alternative management practices are scarce. The objective of this study is to compare the cost-benefit of adopting On-Farm Biological Control in relation to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Conventional Management in Soybean cultivation, in the region of Maracaju-MS, during the 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025 harvests. Thus, this study intends to assist rural producers in making decisions about which pest and disease management offers the best cost-benefit, in addition to encouraging the &#xD;
scientific community to conduct more economic viability studies on the use of On-Farm Biological Control for pest and disease management. This will contribute to promoting sustainable agriculture with less environmental impact. Above all, this study aims to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 02 – Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture; SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production; and SDG 15, which concerns the preservation of life on land.
