As Representações sociais da violência envolvendo “as juventudes indígenas” na imprensa de Dourados (MS)

Abstract

This dissertation intends several forms talk on as the young natives are branded in the press of Dourados-MS. We take the newspapers O Progresso and Douranews to find the social representations of the violence that are shown up in the daily life of the media. The work breaks of the hypothesis that the stigmatization and prejudice made a list to the young natives has a distance defined from the speech of the piece of news. The social representations of the violence influence the social imaginary thing that creates the public opinion. This public opinion intensified with the relation of power that the media practises if it transforms in public sphere. Using the sociological method of inquiry and of analysis of documents there is created a semantic field able to identify expressions that can be treated like social representations. The delimitation of the years from 2010 to 2013 of the news will be confronted with the news of the newspaper Ajindo (Action Indigenous Youth Dourados), allowing a criticism to the profile of the media in Dourados-MS when speeches done by the natives themselves will be presented. It is proposed to understand that the press while announcing the violence making a list of the young natives also produces violence because of branding them from several social representations of the violence.
