Alice Vaz de Melo, A Dama da morte e as configurações literárias no Vale do Ivinhema

Abstract

The research is formed towards the literary construction within the novel A dama da morte (1968), written by Alice Vaz de Melo, according to the historical and identity backgrounds in Ivinhema Valley; and inside this conjuncture it is relevant and indispensable to discuss upon the presence of the feminine voice, the author’s intellectual isolation, the gathering impositions that time and place forced women to follow, are all fundamental to reach the reading process through this aim so that the imagined community constitution becomes clear as well as the origin of the subject who plots throughout the historical literary narrative placing the reader in a time and space which seem to be so credible and dynamic that lead to the immediate approach of the literary and imagetic place in construction with the real collective context in Ivinhema Valley and the other environs of the region.
