A Prática social da língua (gem): trajetórias e percursos na constituição da identidade dos sujeitos do 9º ano da escola pública

Abstract

This research has an approach to language and its function as a social practice within the school context of a public state school in the city of Dourados-MS. The words from students from the 9th grade will be taken into consideration. That is the last year of elementary school II. They wrote texts during activities belonging to the Portuguese Language class and they were interviewed after the production of such texts. The main objective is to investigate the cultural identity of the students of the 9th grade, in the order to have a new look at these subjects, whereas any change internal and external at this stage of life, based on the theories by BAKHTIN (1986), ORLANDI (2009) and BOURDIEU (2007). According to Bakhtin, the subject needs interaction and based on the coexistence with others, they become a social being. Hence, we intend to verify the construction of the subject, hinging on this perspective. The precepts by Orlandi are also used, i.e., the discourse analysis in terms of language (the three ways of approaching the language, which are the cultural, the constructed and the formal ones). Furthermore, Bourdieu’s work are exploited in such aspects as: the social practice in the habitus (what is incorporated) and the field (instrument). Dealing with questions of the identity, wich the subjects are inserted, we take the studies of the Bauman and Hall. To tries, this work, outline the identity of the subjects actors of the discourse analized, based on the theories of French Discourse Analysis. Therefore, it tries to demonstrate how the discourses of the students of the 9th grade of elementary school II, through texts , configure the constitution not only of their cultural identities but also of their knowledge and their social life, from the position that this subject occupies. Thus, the results should show these students’ cultural identities previously built through their verbal written representation as well as position in context for them and what they seek to build within their trajectory whit perception.
