Saúde, produção e reprodução da vida dos sujeitos do assentamento Itamatati

Abstract

The present research, entitled "Health, production and reproduction of life of the subjects of the Itamarati Settlement", is about a scope, whose objective is to understand how health in its broad sense produces/reproduces to(in) the life of the subjects of the Itamarati Settlement. In this way, the Land Struggle is an inseparable element of a healthy life for the peasants, in other words, the Struggle as health promotion, because the process of land struggle "feeds hope", group cohesion, the identity of struggle, alternativities and, consequently, infers in the access and accessibility to health services. In order to understand this process, we discuss the struggles of social movements and Agrarian Reform as a possibility of building what we understand as counter-space, thought by Ruy Moreira (2017) and, consequently, the counter-reasons, thought by Milton Santos (2006). The empirical and analytical scope goes through the Joaquim das Neves Norte occupation (1997-2002) and the Itamarati Settlement, located in the municipality of Ponta Porã-MS, Brazil. The proposed approach, from the occupation to the settlement, highlights health promotion and access to health services through the experiences of the subjects who lived through the two moments of the land struggle. In the methodological path, we adopted the qualitative research supported by Minayo (2014). Thus, during the occupation - our data base is supported by reports of subjects remaining from the Joaquim das Neves Norte occupation; and after the conquest of the land and consolidation of the Itamarati settlement, we listed the social profiles based on Pereira (2006). The health produced and promoted previously in the occupations, based on traditional knowledge through the use of medicinal plants, holistic alternative treatments, collective construction and the health in the Itamarati settlement, differ in primacy due to the existence of the technical network and the space-time transformation movement. However, the health promoted by the State today, in the settlement, refers to the reproduction of the same norms available in any urban area; there is no emphasis on policies that contemplate the settlement's socio-spatial reality. But the counter-space of the struggle for Agrarian Reform is an alternative to promote health practices that the normative space cannot supply, that is, practices that are built through the collective, the debate on health, the symbiosis between the health system and the subjects that use it.
