Corpos deslizantes, corpos desviantes: a prática do skate e suas representações no espaço urbano: (1972-1989)

Abstract

This work had for objective to argue the practical of skate of street (streetskating) through its representations in the urban space. Leaving of the analysis of a North American video set of documents, intitled "Dogtown and Z-Boys: Where Everything Started ", a series of pertinent questions to the body, the appropriation of the urban spaces and to the youthful processes of identification was developed. One is about a research on the history of the present time, that hits upon for a period of transformations understood enters the decades of 70 and 80 of the passed century, characterized here as of after-modernity. After to characterize the beginning of the development of skate in the United States, was broken for the analysis of this practical in national territory, using itself for in such a way a series of magazines, letters, depositions and photographs of skate. The association between this activity and the contraculture, as well as with movement of the punk-rock and the cunnings of the cultural industry, had revealed good for a context understanding of this practical cultural.
