Uma Contribuição ao estudo da desindustrialização no Brasil

Abstract

On the subject of de-industrialization in spite of recent, and highly controversial, it has gained an increasing importance in the economic debates surrounding International Relations. In Brazil, the matter is related to the discussion on the process of trade liberalization and the consequent focus on exporting primary products. The substitution of imports, the overall trade liberalization, and institutional changes are key factors to arrive at the present situation, both in the commercial sector, as well as in the industry. On the topic of de -industrialisation according to Bacha and Bolle (2013), it may not be considered to be cyclical in nature but structural, and in the long run. The aim of the following work is, through an analysis of the historical and structural facts that are discussed, contribute to the understanding of the phenomenon of de industrialisation, analysing the theories involved in the process in Brazil as well as the other themes that are important in the case of regionalidades of de -industrialisation and the role of China, examining how and why this rising country, has been increasingly influential in the patterns of imports and exports in Brazil.
