Abstract

This research aimed to reflect on the contributions of education in and in the field in the construction of socio-environmental practices and how these issues are inserted in the curriculum of the Nova Itamarati State School, located in the Itamarati II Settlement, municipality of Ponta Porã, MS. In this sense, the research sought to analyse how the School's Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) addresses the agro-environmental theme in projects included in the Earth-Life and Work thematic axis, making the rural school space of fundamental importance for the debate and decision-making. awareness of agri-environmental issues. This is a study in which a questionnaire was applied to the Direction, teachers working in the thematic axis, as well as to students, whose perception of the role of the School and the importance of addressing the thematic issues included in the School's curricular component were the basis of center of that research. The School, recognized as a space for sharing information and disseminating knowledge has an important role in the formation of future rural producers and in the perpetuation of teachings about working the land, considering the history of the Settlement and the entire struggle waged in around land acquisition. It should, therefore, enable young people to be enriched with knowledge that will influence their permanence in the countryside, however, considering adding actions that will contribute to the preservation and conservation of the environment.
