A Compreensão histórica, social e ambiental da população indígena do Tekohá Jarará: insegurança alimentar e a educação como ferramenta libertadora

Abstract

This dissertation presents a social, historical, and environmental reflection of the Guarani and Kaiowá subjects of Tekoha Jarará, in the city of Juti, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, and an analysis of their understanding of garbage. This research was delimited in an analysis in categories, which are based on the perspective of Paulo Freire and his work Pedagogy of the Oppressed. The motivations for this research originate from concerns, inquiries, and concerns regarding the garbage generated in the Jarará indigenous community and its impact on the environment and human health. We understand that the production of garbage in the village is the result of the expropriation of the territory, which led the Guarani and Kaiowá indigenous peoples to depend on basic food baskets and high consumption of industrialized products. This research is qualitative in nature, it was carried out through interviews, to carry out the interviews a semi-structured questionnaire with 13 questions was used, the subjects interviewed belong to the Guarani and Kaiowá ethnicities. In view of the responses to the interviewed, a Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) was used. In this sense, the work presents the historical relations of the expropriation of the Jarará Tekoha; understanding of the concept of garbage and its impact on the environment and the health of villagers. Therefore, the research aims to demonstrate how the expulsions and invasions of their Tekoha permanently affected their physical and cultural reproduction and their relationship with the environment.
