Fibra eubiótica parcialmente fermentável na dieta de matrizes suínas

Abstract

The addition of fiber in the diet of sows can promote an improvement in welfare, as it prolongs the feeling of satiety, contributing to the reduction of stereotyped behavior, in addition to providing benefits to reproductive performance.Thus, the present research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effects of lignocellose-based eubiotic fiber supplementation on the behavior, surface temperature and reproductive parameters of sows during pregnancy and lactation, as well as the performance of their litters. 400 sows of commercial genetic lineage were used, distributed in block randomized design into two treatments in the gestation phase C: Control and F: with inclusion of fiber from the 85th day of gestation. In the lactation phase, the sows were distributed in factorial scheme 2 x 2 in the following treatments: CC: Control; FC: with fiber inclusion only during pregnancy; FC: with fiber inclusion only during lactation; FF: with inclusion of fiber during pregnancy and lactation. Females that received eubiotic fiber supplementation during pregnancy increased feed intake during lactation. Fiber supplementation during pregnancy and lactation improved the body condition score of sows at weaning and the performance of piglets during the lactation phase, as well as reduced the farrowing time of sows and the expression of stereotyped behaviors in both phases. Eubiotic fiber supplementation for sows in the gestation and lactation phase, promotes improvement in their performance and well-being, with positive consequences for the development of their litters.
